The de-addiction camp jointly organized by People’s Foundation and Kothamangalam Peace Valley has concluded. 19 people participated in the twenty-one-day camp held at the ‘Peace Valley-Thanal Center for Neuropsychiatry and De-addiction Center’. The camp provided friendly companionship with different treatment methods including psychiatric treatment, counseling, and psychotherapy. Asst. Excise Commissioner and Ernakulam Vimukthi Manager Muhammad Harish inaugurated the closing ceremony of the camp. He said that the propaganda being carried out by the drug mafia by spreading false news that drugs are beneficial for improving memory power is to mislead the youth. He advised the camp members to say no to drugs and make their lives an addiction.
People’s Foundation Executive Director Shameel Sajjad presided over the event. Chairman P.M. Abubakar, Peace Valley Thanal Convener Muhammad K.M.S., KCBC President James Korambel, Peace Valley Psychiatry Hospital HOD Dr. Nikhil George and others spoke. Peace Valley Thanal Psychiatry Hospital Manager Jalal Meeran welcomed the participants and People’s Foundation Project Director Shabeeb Mambat expressed his gratitude.
Dr. Jinu Moideen, Fatima Ansari, Shikha Maria Sibi, Ajmal, Marilyn, Mekha and others led the camp. The participants of the camp took a firm pledge to leave the camp with full confidence and never return to the path of addiction.
