Life can change within a night. For Saleem a 40 year old entrepreneur from Meppadi, that night came on July 30 2024 , when Mundakkai Landslide washed off the tranquil part of Wayanad. Within seconds the light , love & laughter sagged to somber, sufferings & screams. Subsequently, Saleem finds a wheel of hope after his great lose.
Razed to Rubbles
Before the landslide , Saleem owned a furniture shop in Chooralmala, living a modest & pleasant life with his family. When the disaster hit, everything changed overnight. The furniture that he owned crushed & razed into rubbles utterly.
Aftermath, his source of income withered & he had no idea how to rebuild it.
Rebuilding Together
People’s foundation a charitable organization connected Saleem to provide financial assistance to rebuild his livelihood. Despite the uncertainty he opted driving which he was delighted in driving. As a consequence of Allergic issues he abandoned furniture field.
Saleem’s passion for driving led him to establish a bold living environment offering an adventurous Jeep safari in 900 woods. The wheels of hope steers up day by day in his life.
Saleem’s story is a testament to the power of resilience, proving that even after the worst storms, there is always a way to rebuild—not just for yourself, but for those around you & People’s foundation upholds the deserving individuals. For Saleem, the People’s Foundation became a wheel of hope, as well as a ray of hope for many others in Meppadi.
