Peoples Foundation gets “Golden Salute” award for the remarkable role in the fight against Covid-19

Kozhikode: The Peoples Foundation got the recognition as Covid warrior for the remarkable role in the fight against covid–19 and grabbed second position in the group category of the ‘Golden Salute’ contest organized by Malayala Manorama Online in collaboration with Malabar Gold and Diamonds. Manorama Online along with Malabar Gold & Diamonds came up with this unique program to recognize and appreciate the leading front-line fighters in the Covid-19 defense. Readers nominated more than a thousand people and communities who volunteered for the Covid defense. The winners were then presented with gold coins, trophies and certificates. The award for the People’s Foundation was presented at the ceremony held at the Malayala Manorama Head Office, Kozhikode by Malabar Gold Kozhikode Showroom Head K.M. Javed Mian. People’s Foundation Chairman MK Muhammadali received the award. Malayala Manorama Chief News Editor P.J. Joshua, Deputy General Manager of Marketing, R.C. Salil Vellodi, General Manager, Malabar Gold Kozhikode Showroom; Hamid Salim, Executive Director People’s Foundation; Muhammad Razeen (Manorama Online) were spoke on the event.  People Foundation carried out many programs under the slogan “let’s provide Solace and shelter” aimed at the rehabilitation program for the families of needy expatriates who have died due to Covid. The program included food kit distribution to the needy families, emergency relief for the terminally ill patients and those suffering from life-threatening diseases, PPE kits for medical colleges, medicine distribution, online counselling, distribution of clothes to camp members, providing travel aid and other facilities for returnees from other states, food items to the community kitchen, help desk and medical camps for guest workers from other states.
