People’s Foundation will build a house for Shihab and Sheeba, a couple living in Kannanallur, Kulappadam, Kollam, and their son Muhammad Shaheen. Muhammad Shaheen, who is studying in the eighth grade at Kottara Government School, had shared his experiences on social media, including being taunted by his classmates and friends for going to collect Zakat. He needs a house that is well-sealed to keep out the rain and sun. Shaheen, who excels in both academics and extracurricular activities, should keep the awards he has received from the rain out. The People’s Foundation officials, who came to the attention of the issue through local media, visited the family and expressed their willingness to build a house.
Shaheen and his family have been wishing for a secure house for more than ten years. The family is suffocating in a house with cement blocks all around and a plastic sheet on top. Although they have submitted applications for a house to the three-tier panchayats and the collectorate, all of them have been stuck in red tape and have not yielded any results. The People’s Foundation officials, who came to the attention of the issue through local media, visited the family and expressed their willingness to build a house.
People’s Foundation Area Coordinator Y. Nassar, Jamaat-e-Islami District General Secretary Aneesh Yusuf, Area President Sharafuddin Abdullah, Unit President E.K. Siraj, Kulappadam Muslim Jamaat President Iqbal, Secretary Saifuddin, Nawaz Kulappadam, and Zainuddin Mash were present. Former Nedumbana Panchayat President S. Nasaruddin announced the project and handed over the house plan.
