PC Vishnunath MLA said that the work of the People’s Foundation, which provided a house to Shihan, a ninth-grade student who had to face the humiliation of society for not having a house to sleep in, is exemplary and worthy of imitation. He was speaking after inaugurating the handover ceremony of the house built by the People’s Foundation for Shihan, a ninth-grade student and athlete in Nedumbana, Kollam.
The People’s Foundation was not only providing a house for Shihan, but also helping to uplift the family mentally and socially. There are many people in the society who dream of having a house to sleep in. The government and the relevant institutions have limitations in finding a solution to that. There is a situation where children are unable to pay attention to their education due to the fear of being evicted from their homes for not paying rent. He said that it is a great thing that the People’s Foundation has built about 1500 houses in such a situation.
A house is not just a place to sleep, but a big factor in children’s education, socio-economic growth, security and growth in many ways. People’s Foundation Chairman P.I. Naushad, who presided over the ceremony, said that the People’s Foundation sees the housing project in that way and that the aim is to create a nation with self-respect.
Jamaat-e-Islami State Secretary T. Shakir handed over the keys of the house to Nedumbana Muslim Jamaat Secretary Saifuddin. Foundation Vice Chairman M. Abdul Majeed delivered the keynote address. Social activist Manikutty S. Pillai handed over the gift for the family. Muhammed Iqbal Konnola honored building contractor Kabir Chempadam, who completed the construction of the house on time.
